My Italian neighbor, who goes to work every morning on his little scooter, turned 40. The design for his birthday cake was self evident.

Once again my friend, Henriette, was throwing a birthday party. However, this year I couldn't come, but she still wanted her cake! She didn't want an ultra girlish cake with flowers and such, but she would like a festive cake just the same. And that she got.

Wild animals cake

Isabella (the little girl in my building) turned 3 years old. She is a real charmer and she absolutely loves cake, so obviously my present to her was a cake that she and her little friends could eat at her party - none of the figurines survived that meeting but the kids were thrilled.

Strawberry birthday cake

My brother, Jonathan (called Joe), isn't a big fan of celebrating his own birthday. This of course did not stop his annoying sister from making him a strawberry birthday cake.

Of course my friend, Scott, is not a rose girl at all, but in my view she has the elegance of a swan, and as swans mate for life, I thought a pair of swans would make great figurines for her wedding cake.
